Welcome
Dear Glia Community,
On behalf of Network Glia, the Organizing and Programme Committees, we are sincerely pleased to welcome you in Marseille for the XVIIth European Meeting on Glial Cells in Health and Disease.
Since the first meeting in Heidelberg in 1994, the European Meeting on Glial Cells in Health and Disease became the largest conference on glia, gathering nearly 1,500 scientists and physicians. After Arcachon and Paris, the conference comes for the first time, to Marseille in Provence. During the conference, you will have the opportunity to attend an exciting programme including 7 Plenary Lectures, 30 Symposia and 5 Workshops encompassing all topics related to glia cell biology. We thus hope that you will find at GliaMarseille 2025 stimulating scientific exchanges and collaborations. As usual, the meeting will start with the Introductory Course on glia cells.
Marseille is a cosmopolitan city with much to offer, from ancient history and cultural diversity to a unique seaside landscape. This city in the heart of Provence is also famous for its Mediterranean cuisine, which is best enjoyed with a local wine. You shouldn’t leave without visiting the MUCEM, a large museum dedicated to Mediterranean culture, having a drink on the old port and enjoying a walk in the Panier, Marseille’s oldest district. Not far from the city center, you can hike in the Calanques, Europe’s first national park encompassing land, sea and urban areas.
The XVIIth European Meeting on Glial Cells in Health and Disease will take place in Marseille-Chanot, a modern conference centre in the heart of Marseille. This place provides excellent poster and lecture facilities to accommodate all the meeting activities. From there, you will easily reach by metro, bus or bike the historical centre, the old port and the seaside.
We hope that you will enjoy the meeting and your stay in Marseille and that thanks to your participation this meeting will be a success.
We are looking forward to welcoming you in Marseille in July 2025!
